A chemical peel exfoliates the dead, sloughed, superficial
skin to allow more vibrant skin underneath to shine through.
It takes away the dull grey look and replaces it with a
healthy glow. Without layers of dead skin cells blocking the
pores, you will be less prone to breakouts, clogged pores
and best yet, your at-home products will penetrate better.
Even the best moisturizers on the market will have a tough
time getting through layers of dead skin cells. By
alleviating the blockage, you have just made your products
that much more effective.
Chemical peels or microdermabraision, or a combination of
the two treatments, are an excellent introduction into the
benefits of medical esthetics. These treatments allow you to
see, feel and sense the difference in only a few minutes.
The procedures are fast and convenient, generally between 30
and 45 minutes. There is no recovery time, so you can get
back to your normal routine the very same day.
These in-office medical-grade peels, in conjunction with a
home care regime of medical-grade skin care products, can be
used to improve the appearance of skin imperfections as
well. Concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation
irregularities such as sun spots or age spots, enlarged
pores, mild to moderate acne, and superficial acne scarring
can be addressed.

BEFORE
AFTER
A
chemical peel is not painful. There may be a mild tingling
sensation and /or itchiness, depending on which peel
treatment you are receiving. This sensation only lasts a few
minutes and is supervised at all times. After a peel, the
skin is sun-sensitive and we will apply a sunscreen
immediately afterwards. We also recommend a sun block with
an SPF 30 or more for your continued use after the
treatment.
Chemical peels can be used on the face or body. Common areas
of the body to be treated include the chest, back, and hands
for skin rejuvenation, acne, or sun-damage.
It is important to mention that the term “chemical” peel may
be deceiving. Although they are considered chemical peels,
they are derived from natural ingredients, such as sugar
cane, milk derivatives, and fruit acids. Peels have been
around for centuries in a much more crude form, but even
Cleopatra knew the benefits of using peels to keep the skin
glowing and at its best. Medical-grade peels are much more
effective and safer to use today, with the supervision of
either a doctor or medical aesthetician.
